Ingredients
0.5 pint
Milk

Bay Leaf

Whole Clove

Breadcrumbs
50 g
Butter
Method
Pour the milk into a small non-stock saucepan, add the chopped onion, bay leaf, peppercorns and the clove.
BrIng all to the boil then leave to cool for a few minutes.
Strain into a bowl containing the breadcrumbs, then stir in the butter and season well.
Keep warm until needed. Before serving add more breadcrumbs if it seems too thin or add a little more milk or cream if it becomes too thick.
