Method
- Put the onion and slice of bread in a food processor and process to mix them together.
- Put the onion and bread mixture in to a large bowl.
- Crush the garlic and add that.
- Add the beef mince, tomato puree and egg yolk.
- Season with some salt and pepper.
- Use a wooden spoon to mix all the ingredients together. Make sure they are thoroughly mixed.
- Divide the mixture into the number of burgers you want to make.
- If you have a burger press, use this, otherwise shape the mixture into burgers and space them out in a lined baking tray.
- Grill for about 5 mins on each side.
- Serve in a bun with your choice of sauce/garnish.
Tips
Use a baking tray rather than a baking sheet to grill them in. The high sides will help contain the spitting fat when you grill them.
