Method
- In a large bowl beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time and beat well.
- Stir in the ground almonds then the melted chocolate and vanilla.
- Fold in the sieved flour and cocoa powder. The mixture should be soft and glossy, add a little milk if necessary.
- Three quarters fill the cake cases and bake for ten to fifteen minutes until well risen and springy to the touch. Leave to cool on a wire tray.
To Decorate
Use a soft icing, such as Chocolate Fudge Icing or Butter Icing. Pipe it on generously using a star shapped nozzle. Finish with chocolate heart decorations and icing roses.
